Based on the best-selling Ken Follet book (and series), which later became a great board game, the Pillars of the Earth mini-series will be airing on Stars (in the U.S.) starting on the 23rd of July.

The eight part mini-series, which will be on Movie Central in Canada, starts on July 23rd here too. 

It's a Canada-Germany co-production with an international cast such as Ian McShane as Bishop Waleran and Donald Sutherland as Bartholomew.
