The Hurt Locker

Maybe I was sick, or had a headache when I watched this show, but I really see no reason that this is getting as much critic approval as it is.

Boom!

The Hurt Locker is a meandering story of some "heroes" that blow up bombs. One guy is a crazy wild-card, so he brings a "calculated" death wish to work. I won't give away the plot motivations for this character, but the character felt shallow and misdireted.

Boom!

Other than a couple of tense moments when bombs were being defused, or insurgents were firing at the bomb squad, this movie seemed to offer me little else. Some of the modern combat scenes were engaging, but pretty mundane compared to Blackhawk Down.

Now that you've read my rant, including the three "Booms", you've pretty much experienced everything The Hurt Locker has to offer; I've just saved you over an hour of your life.

See, greater value than the movie.

Maybe I can be convinced to watch it again, but I doubt I will.
