Dusty Old Games
Post Dusty Old Games

Nope, not dusty old "James", but those older games on my shelf that aren't getting played. Over the next few months, I want to try to get out some of my favourite and forgotten gems.

Some of the classics, and many more of these not-so-classics, that I'd like to get to the table again are:

    Bohnanza
    Frank's Zoo
    Goldbrau
    Hoity Toity
In the Shadow of the Emperor
    Klunker
    Kremlin
    Mykerinos
    Mu
Poleconomy (with the corrupt government rules of course!)
    Pueblo
    Samurai Swords
    Streetcar
    Tikal
    Torres
    TV Wars
    Vino

For the tomorrow's Games Day (June 26th), I'm going to bring out:
    Bohnanza (maybe with some expansions)
    Streetcar
    TV Wars

This barely touches the surface of my 250+ games, and I know that a lot of other members of the clubs have significantly more unplayed games than I do.

If you're interested in playing one of these games, or have a bunch of unplayed games that you'd like to get some love, or even have some classic game that you'd like to see one of us bring out, add them here, and maybe we can get some more play out of these old "classics".

At the last Games Day I was able to convince a few players to try their hand at Streetcar. It was a surprisingly good game, better than I remembered.

Next Games Day, I'll bring out TV Wars again. I think this is one of the Avalon Hill games that deserves a reprint, with only minor revisions. It has a great theme, and has some mechanics that could be put to good use (Auctions, Competitive Scheduling and bluffing elements). At it's heart, it really is a resource management game that reminds me a little of Fabrik der Träume/Hollywood Blockbuster /Dream Factory.

Finally I got to play TV Wars again. The game was interesting, and probably not as fun as I remembered it, but it has a ton of potential to be "re-imagined" as a Euro-styled game.
