Tichu Rolling League

Tichu is one of the clubs most popular games! Tichu is a partnership climbing game where crafty play and precise timing, along with a little luck, determines the winner! Players play combinations of cards (similar to poker hands) and try to be the first to get rid of all their cards. The cards led determine the combination that can be played on that trick. Players may pass or play, but the last player to play leads the next trick! Try your luck at this popular game!

This Tichu League will run over the next three months at FRAG Games Days (and possibly other events). It's a Rolling tournament format, so games are not formally scheduled, but any games played at the events can be included.

Player Slots / Overflow Slots
No limit on the number of players.

Player Experience
No experience required. A brief introduction to the game will be provided for new players, but it is suggested the players have experience with trick taking and partnership games. Additional strategy information is available in past issues of the Prairie Gamer Newsletter.

Playing the Game
Basic Game. Card passing will be face down. Players may partner with any player, and play against any team of players. Score sheets must be submitted, and results will be tracked based on a simplified ELO rating system (see below).

The score sheet will include the name of all players, the date and time of the match, and the final scores in the game (for each player). Score sheets should be handed in at the front desk for inclusion in the standings.

Player ratings will be calculated after each game. Each players rating will be compared against the average of the opponents rating, and ratings will be modified based on the calculator available at http://www.ecochess.com/elocalculator.htm

Prizes
Top players in both the new and experienced categories will face off for the final prizes. A random draw prize will also be awarded based on participation.
