The Seekers

Everybody here wants something. No one even tries to keep that hidden, not from each other; you've all signed in blood to aid and protect each other, with the result that each of them is also sworn to aid and protect you. Each of you has agreed to disregard race and creed in the pursuit of your own particular currency - most often in this group, power. You might not like the necromancers, or the vampires, or the mortals, but you'll work with them, because you can see yourself getting closer to your goals every day.

You don't meet face-to-face very often, but some of the werewolves have insisted on a meeting. There's something going on in the supernatural world, something that is dangerous to them alone. What's worse, they think someone here is involved, and they want it stopped. But even those who aren't involved can't see as how this is such a bad thing for them. The werewolves are the weakest of you, after all, and don't contribute as much as they get. And suddenly, nobody trusts anyone, and things start falling apart.

This game is taking place in the Shadow Files setting with the Exemplar system. For more information on that, check out the Vagabond Productions forums (http://vagabond-productions.forumotion.net) - but don't worry if you don't know the system, we'll go over it for you at the game.

Forgive me if this is curt, but I just spent about an hour crafting a post that the forum swallowed on me.

I have a list of characters, but am willing to accept ideas of your own - the earlier you contact me with them, the more likely I will say yes.

The following (unpicked) characters all assume male in the description because I don't want to bias anyone when choosing a character - NONE of the genders matter.

Werewolves - The ones who called this meeting. They are the weakest of all the supernatural creatures.

    * Shyla as Marie Summer: She has some magical talent of her own.
    * Jeremy/Janine MacGregor: Has been searching for a "cure" to his human half.
    * Will/Wendy Henderson: Clearly resentful of the lack of respect others give him, his attitude is part of the reason everyone steers clear.

Mages - They come in a large variety moralities, levels of power, and characteristics.

    * Jonathan/Josephine Martin: A mysterious wizard who keeps to himself and rarely speaks.
    * Mark as Trevor Totten: A mage who is open about his desire to become the best human sorcerer of his time.
    * Paul as Ernie VanTrain: A young mage just coming into his power.
    * Ayla as Amanda Lee: A convicted criminal, she has no intention of ever serving her jail time.

Vampires - They do not feed on blood, but emotions of one sort or another.

    * Restronan: A vampire who prefers to feed on anger and hate, encouraging it whenever he can. He has a lot of influence in the mortal world and likes to play it very cool.
    * Jim as Erafos: Generally a friendly sort of guy. Is not ashamed of his vampirism.

Other Mortals

    * Mike M. as Richard O'Reilly: An officer of the law who has become embittered with the system.

The following will probably only be filled if someone particularly wants it or we have plenty of players:

Dragons - Pretty powerful, but usually disinterested in anything but their own kind

    * Liza as Troste: Openly disrespectful to everyone, he got what he wanted from this group long ago, but stays because of his promise to do so.
    * Unawa: A quiet sort, he does what he's asked but he's keeping score.

The "Rookies" - A group of mages who have bonded together as a result of their particularly low level of power. None of them is actually new at this.

    * Darla as Olivia Chadwick: Wants magic to be accessible to everyone. Trying to set up a clinic where people can come and have a mage help them out.
    * Sam/Sam Patrick: He doesn't care about power in magic so much - after all, he's got more than most people. He's just trying to get ahead.

Necromancers - Mages who are not afraid to touch death, they and other mages usually look down upon each other.

    * Dr. Stan/Susan Talent: Often steals a few moments of life from the terminally ill or bed-ridden in order to bolster healing on those who can still appreciate it.
    * Greg/Maggie Wisher - Apprentice to Dr. Talent, he doesn't share the same views. Instead, he intends to find a way to prolong life without the usual results.

The Fae - Powerful, but limitted in what they are "allowed" to do

    * Rontin/Ronta: Chief ambassador of the Summer Fae.

Thanks Laura. I've updated the Games Day page information to include this information also.

The forum timeout issue has been reported by others. I have up one of the timeouts to hopefully rectify this issue. A new release of this software is also available that I will get installed over the holiday season.
